INSTRUCTIONS
- Prior to racking the STIFFDRAW on your harness, starting at a roughly 45 degree angle, rock the upper carabiner into the slot of the STIFFDRAW tube until it snaps into place, and then pull down on the lower carabiner to eliminate slack in the sling.
- Unlike a conventional quickdraw, clip the STIFFDRAW to your harness upside down (rope-side carabiner to the harness). This is the safest way to carry the STIFFDRAW, and it ensures that your hand will be in the proper position when you want to use it.
- Holding the lower end of the STIFFDRAW tube, clip the upper carabiner of the STIFFDRAW to the bolt hanger as with a conventional quickdraw.
- If climbing above the STIFFDRAW, pull down on the STIFFDRAW tube to decouple it from the upper carabiner to reduce the risk of cross-loading.
- Clip the lower carabiner to the rope as with a conventional quickdraw. Climb on.
- When cleaning the route, repeat steps 1 and 2.
STIFFDRAW. Reach higher. Climb harder.
