SAFETY INFORMATION

Beyond the standard quickdraw precautions, there are 2 things to be aware of when using a STIFFDRAW:

  1. Clip the STIFFDRAW to your harness upside down (rope-side carabiner to the harness). This is the safest way to carry the STIFFDRAW, and it ensures that your hand will be in the proper position when you want to use it.

  2. Do not climb above the STIFFDRAW if the topography of the rock and the position of the bolt causes the tip of the STIFFDRAW to protrude in a way that presents a hazard in the event of a fall. With ledges, knobs, horns, flakes, cherts, etc., there are enough hazards without adding another one. If in doubt,  swap it out.
